A condominium development in the South-End of Guelph at the centre of the off-campus student housing district. With a growing student population Solstice Condos offer premier student accommodation. Between the two buildings, there are 237 rental units – 160 at Solstice I and 77 at Solstice II.

Martin’s Family Fruit Farm

Martin’s Family Fruit Farm

From a 100 apples trees in 1971 to more than half a million trees on over 700 acres today! One of the largest apple growers in North America, Martin’s Family Fruit Farm is a year-round supplier of Ontario apples and apple products. They are an experienced exporter of their Ontario apples to many countries. They have been the recipient of the 2004 Ontario Global traders awards for Excellence in Exporting and the Greater Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Environment Award (2005).

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
G&A Lock and Security, as a division of Knell’s, installed a Salto access control system with Axis Cameras & Axis Camera Station Video Management software. The system is used to monitor production lines as well as every day security of the building.

The Metalworks Development

The Metalworks Development

The Metalworks is a mid-rise condo and townhouse development in downtown Guelph that is part of a 5-building development transforming the area into an urban village with residential and commercial space. Three of the buildings are completed – Metalworks, The Studio and The Copper Club. The name Metalworks originates from the history of the site which produced metalwork since 1899. The development follows the Speed River and offers residents opportunities to be outside with amazing views. The Metalworks was recognized at Queen’s Park by the Ontario Association of Architects for part of their World Architecture Day celebration. The fourth building is coming soon – Anthem at The Metalworks, 93 Arthur Street South.

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)

Founded in 1918, The Canadian Mental Health Association is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada. This federated charity brings together local associations who collectively advocate for Canada’s most pressing mental health priorities. Local community associations offer a range of programs, services, supports and expertise for a variety of mental health areas such as mental health promotion and suicide prevention. There are multiple local Associations serving Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, and surrounding areas.

Linamar Innovation Hub Inc

Linamar Innovation Hub Inc

Linamar’s Innovation Hub was a new build under construction in 2019. The purpose of the Hub is research and development. Linamar already had an innovation center that focused on process and materials development for the automotive industry, however, the company had a vision to create something different – an Innovation Hub to develop products that could be part of the company’s future. When the 2019 pandemic hit, Linamar accelerated the construction project and pivoted the Hub to manufacture ventilators. Ventilators were in short supply and were needed locally, nationally and globally in response to the pandemic. G&A Lock & Security supported their efforts to complete construction ahead of schedule by prioritizing their access control project.

Linergy Manufacturing Inc. (Linamar)

Linergy Manufacturing Inc. is a manufacturing facility in Guelph, Ontario and is part of the Linamar Corporation. Linamar is a manufacturing company that operates 61 manufacturing facilities around the world, with 22 of those facilities located in Guelph. They offer leading edge technology and manufacturing expertise in creating solutions that support the automotive industry and so much more. Their Skyjack brand is a global leader of aerial work platforms to the construction market. A Linamar company line indicates they are a “diversified manufacturing company powering vehicles, powering motion, powering work, powering lives”. The Linergy facility processes steel tube, bar stock, and other components to manufacture Skyjack cylinders, Winergy gear housings and other components.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
G&A Lock and Security, as a division of Knell’s, installed a Axis camera system consisting of 50+ Axis cameras to assist operations in better protecting their employees, property and assets. Senstar Symphony 7 was deployed as their video management software, which was installed on a custom built to spec server by our G&A Lock & Security Information Technology Team.

Family & Children’s Services of Guelph/Wellington County

Family & Children’s Services of Guelph/Wellington County

Family & Children’s Services supports families of Guelph and Wellington County with services ranging from prevention and early help, to family support, temporary care, and adoption. Their model of service relies on the broader community through a network of partnerships to help safeguard/protect children. They have three main locations in and around the Guelph and Wellington area – the Head Office, a County Office and the Shelldale Centre. Shelldale Centre provides quality programs for children ages 0-18 years of age and their families with a goal of providing early help and support.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
G&A Lock & Security, as a division of Knells, spent 2 months upgrading the Family & Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington County locations with a new Genetec Synergis access control system integrated to a DSC NEO alarm system & Omnicast video IP with Axis cameras. Genetec utilizes open architecture controllers and universal Onvif compliant cameras. This installed system is future ready for any new industry features that become available and is easily upgraded as Genetec is an industry leader software company.

Wilson’s Better Used Cars

Wilson’s Better Used Cars

Wilson’s better used cars was founded in 1961 and has been expanding ever since. They built a brand-new massive facility in 2015 that has over 600 plus used cars on their lot and will be expanding their lot again in the near future. They are the largest used car dealership in Ontario located in Guelph.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
G&A Lock & Security installed their alarm system & Axis cameras with Aimetis video management software in 2015 and have been adding on to it every year. Facility is monitored via video link after hours to monitor the car lot with live video monitoring. Wilson’s better used cars use the camera system to see when customers are on the lot so customers can be helped more effectively. They also use the system to monitor the condition of the cars as they enter & leave the lot. Learn more about the project here

St. Paul’s University College

St. Paul’s University College

St. Paul’s University College was established in 1962 and is affiliated with the University of Waterloo and located on it’s main campus. It offers a student residence as well as it’s academic courses.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
G&A Lock and Security division, over the past 5 years has been upgrading their facility to Salto electronic access control. Currently there are over 500+ doors on the Salto system. Eventually, the entire campus of St. Paul’s University College will be “keyfree”. Knell’s also provided hollow metal frames and doors, plastic laminate wood doors, finishing hardware and automatic door openers for the addition to their campus.

Wallenstein Feed and Supply LTD.

Wallenstein Feed and Supply LTD. has been manufacturing quality feed for Ontario livestock industry since 1958. Throughout the years they have continued to grow as one of the major feed suppliers in Southwestern Ontario. They have locations in Wallenstein, and a pre-mix facility in Monkton.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
G&A Lock and Security division installed an Axis camera system at each of their locations. The camera system helps with overall building security, as well as assisting with monitoring production and loading of the transport trucks. The Wallenstein location was finished in 2017 and the Monkton location was added in 2018.
